What are you seeking out of life? Most people want to be loved, to have power, control, inner peace, etc. What did Jesus mean when he told his disciples to seek His kingdom? The parable which Jesus told about the four soils is misinterpreted by many people today. God sowed the seed, the seed is the Word, and the Word is Jesus. God chooses us and reveals the truth to us through the Holy Spirit. We are then called to bring the Good News to others.
Discussion questions:
1. What are you seeking out of life?
2. What does Jesus mean when he tells the parable?
3. How do we seek the kingdom of God?
4. What does Jesus mean when he says we should live abundantly?
5. How do we spread the Good News about Jesus?

Note: On the first Sunday of every month, we have a pizza gathering, so there is no normal podcast. Instead, we repeat for you one of the excellent messages from our archives. This message was originally podcast in August of last year.
C.S. Lewis in Mere Christianity writes: “A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.”

God sees our lives completely. We can’t hide anything from Him, yet we try to do so. Is your God big enough to see you through a crisis? We don’t like to wait on God. When we learn to let go and let God abide in us, it causes our roots to be set in Jesus. We learn to take up His cross daily and follow Him. He rescues us in a God-sized way.
1) Take time out with God
2) Communicate with God in prayer (1 John 5:14-15)
3) Confess our sins
4) Come together with others in Christian love
Discussion questions:
1) When has God showed up in your life?
2) How easy is it for you to study the Word of God?
3) Why is it important to study the Word of God?
4) Do we keep repeating our mistakes?
5) How do we love each other without judging each other?
6) How do we learn to be real with each other?

Who is Jesus? Why do we believe in Him? We need to be prepared to defend our faith, and yet we can’t answer this question for another person. The Lord teaches us humility in order for Him to shine through us. Be the light. Be bold, share our Jesus.
Rendition of John 14:6 by an unknown author:
Without the Way there is no going,
Without the Truth there is no knowing,
Without the Life there is no living.

God plans in advance for us to be his masterpieces. Why don’t we trust Him on the journey? Sometimes His plan puts us in a “waiting room” where we wait and learn to trust God and learn humility. Our strength comes only from the Lord. Like Paul, we should boast only of our weaknesses.

When Saul encountered the disciples who were on fire for Christ, he was infuriated and wanted what he had always known to continue. People are hurting, searching, and looking—they don’t know that only God can turn them around. When God is in control, it often seems like things are out of control, just because it’s out of our hands. God doesn’t make sense until we get to know Him. Our faith thrives when we have no hope but God

God sent out an army (us) to tell the world about how Jesus has redeemed them. Do they see Jesus through us? You and I can’t change people, but Jesus can. We are still sinners, yet we are made perfect in Christ.

Who was Mary Magdalene? Why was she drawn to Jesus? What message of hope did she receive when she met the risen Lord? Jesus died so that we can live. He has defeated death, sin, and Satan. God is always there, even when we don’t sense His presence. He will never leave us. Reach out to other people and show them your Easter, your Jesus.

The Holy Spirit reveals the truth to us. Jesus sacrificed Himself for us. He did it all. Jesus came to prepare His bride—each of us is the bride of Jesus and He came to set us free. On the night that Jesus was to be betrayed, during the Seder meal, Jesus offered His disciples the cup and He also offers it to us. We take communion in remembrance of what Jesus did for us. Do we sense the presence of God or does He sense our presence?

What is church all about? Where is our focus? Do we worship the building and the programs? Or do we realize that there is power in only one name, that of Jesus? Jesus answers the question of who He is with, “I Am.” Know Jesus, don’t just know about Jesus. Prepare and wait for God to lead you. Take God’s journey. Get into God’s Word and spend time with God. How can Jesus use us if we don’t trust in Him? Because of Jesus, we no longer fear death. Remember who you are and who He is--Jesus came to save me!
