The Screwtape Files

The Screwtape files are an adaptation of the C.S. Lewis book "The Screwtape Letters." They are recorded by three of the youth from I2 as an outreach entertainment activity. The series is presented in the format of an old time radio show.

In the series, there are three major characters, each an evil spririt. First there is Fiend who is a regional administrator and a senior, experienced evil spirit. Next is Wormwood, who is a young, abmitious, and eager, rookie temptor, fresh out of training. Last is Screwtape, Wormwood's uncle who is also his mentor as he is assigned his first patient.

The series is rich in meaning as you will hear the subtle ways evil spirits can work with the flaws in the human character. Listen hard enough and you may even see some of the situations in your own life.

Episode 1: The Apprentice
In this episode, we first meet our three characters Fiend, Wormwood, and Screwtape. Wormwood is "wet behind the ears" and has a lot to learn, yet is brash enough to think he already knows it all.

Episode 2: The Penalty
Wormwood's patient becomes a Christian and now Fiend must be told the bad news.

Episode 3: Prayers for Dear Old Mom
The three evil spirits discuss how normal relationships with family members can become serious opportunities for temptation.

Episode 4: Prayer Power
This episode show just how easily our prayers can be twisted and focused on objects (idols) instead of Christ. When this happens, the evil spirits have a much easier job.
